    Excellence

The Klipsch bookshelf speakers offer outstanding sound quality, blending powerful performance with a sleek design. These speakers deliver crisp highs, rich mids, and deep bass, making them perfect for both casual listeners and audiophiles alike. The horn-loaded tweeters provide a dynamic, clear sound, especially in the high-frequency range, which enhances detail and creates an immersive listening experience. Whether you’re listening to music, watching movies, or playing games, the sound is balanced and precise. The build quality of the speakers is equally impressive, with a solid construction that feels durable. The wood-grain finish adds a touch of elegance, making them an attractive addition to any room. The compact size makes them easy to fit on most shelves or desks, yet they still produce a room-filling sound. One of the standout features is the speaker’s ability to maintain clarity even at higher volumes, with minimal distortion. This makes them ideal for small to medium-sized spaces where you want impactful audio without needing a larger setup. Overall, the Klipsch bookshelf speakers are an excellent investment for anyone seeking premium sound quality and refined aesthetics in a compact package. Highly recommended!

    Amazing Sound For The Price

I replaced a pair of JBL bookshelf speakers with these, as the JBL’s had been in use for decades and were starting to sound flat and lifeless. Plus I needed to conserve some space on the shelves.I am using these in a small recording studio where I do voice overs and produce thousands of radio commercials every year. So I need something that sounds good, but not something so high end that it won’t give me a realistic overview of the over all sound of a produced piece.I had been satisfied with other Klipsch speakers used in my home stereo systems. Fine clarity and nice spectrum of sound. Now, these little buggers don’t sound as good as a pair of speakers costing 10 or 20 times the price, but for their size and value they are very very nice. My studio is not much larger than a typical small bedroom so I’m not pumping hundreds of watts into these. They do sound very nice and give me a respectable playback of what I can expect my work to sound like in the wild. These, obviously, are NOT studio monitor speakers e.g. you wouldn’t use them a references mixing the latest production from a music studio as special designed speakers are used for this work. For voice over and commercial production I need to listen to things the way the public will be hearing them, and few people are listening to radio commercials on high end systems. These are built solid, look nice, and sound better than I expected and with a bit more clarity than I expect from speakers of this price. Bass ports on the back give them a little extra punch in the low end – and means you probably don’t really want to hang them on a wall even though a keyhole for doing this is provided on the back. Other reviews are correct – there is nice bass and clear crips highs, and just a hint of a dip in midrange response but I don’t find this to be an issue — or hardly noticeable unless you’re listening for it.All in all they’re quite nice at this price point. They fit where I need them. I used banana plugs to connect the speaker outputs – in fact I also ordered some plugs to make up my own speaker cables when I ordered the speakers. First time I’ve used banana plugs that I didn’t have to solder.I did take the advice of another reviewer and picked up the little Fosi amplifier to drive them – I had been using a Realistic/Optimus mini amp for the past 40 years and decided to upgrade. The little Fosi Audio TB10A amplifier sounds great with these (see my other review). You can’t really miss with these little Klpisch speakers!

Decent set of speakers for near field listening on a desktop setup

take all the hype and positive comments with a grain of salt. they are not Hi-Fi speakers by any means and it does not come with a wow factor but at the same time they do what they are supposed to do and got a great value. With that said, they sound very good on a desktop setting in a close range when they’re well positioned toward your ears. Also very efficient. It can run through a cheap Chinese amp like Fosi Audio BT20A with no audible distortion or hissing.Far better than any desktop speakers I could find in this price rage or much higher. In fact they sound so good on my desk that I don’t wear my Hi-Fi headphones often anymore. I own a HD800s, Hd660s and Z7m2.I don’t recommend these speakers for a living room or a large room setup. Get something bigger for that purpose.

Impressive Performers When Matched with Quality Components and Cables.

SUMMARYAt $150 (at time of review), matched with quality components in a desktop set-up, or small to medium-size room, the R-41Ms are capable little performers. Adding a subwoofer though, puts them in audiophile territory, with their impressive sound stage and detail creating a truly immersive experience. I’m using the excellent 10″ Sony SACS9 115W sub ($100), making this 2.1 speaker set-up, very hard to beat at only $250.AMPLIFIER/ROOM SIZEI have the R-41Ms in a desktop configuration in my video editing studio, which is 12′ x 12′, running from my Macbook Pro. I’m driving them with a Fosi TB10A, 100W, Class D stereo amplifier. For $70, this tiny, capable little amp with its famed TPA3116 chipset (an audio enthusiasts favorite), is a perfect companion for the R-41Ms.INTERCONNECTS AND SPEAKER WIREYou won’t get the best performance out of these (or any) speakers if the components in their path are of insufficient quality to allow them to perform optimally. It can be an astonishing revelation, just upgrading to good quality interconnects and speaker wire. They are the bottleneck where sound stage, and vocals and instruments will either be allowed to breathe, or suffocate and die. There are many electrical properties with significant benefits claimed by their manufacturers (E.g. oxygen-free copper to combat cable oxidation) but the difference they make to the sound quality is rather undecided and often down to personal opinion. The most important consideration, is that your speaker wire gauge is suitable for the impedance of your speakers and the length of your wire. I’m using Crutchfield 16g speaker wire between the amp and speakers, and the thicker Crutchfield 14g wire between the speakers and subwoofer. Confusingly, speaker wire gets thinner the higher the gauge number it is. I use a dual-shielded, 3.5mm (aux) to 2RCA interconnect between the Macbook and Fosi amplifier. It’s an ‘Amazon Basics’ product, and I find it be of excellent quality (around $10).FEATURES AND PERFORMANCEThe R-41Ms use a 4″ copper-spun woofer and Klipsch’s trademark, 1″ horn-loaded, dome tweeter, used across the Reference Range. The tweeter definitely places higher frequencies in the more bright category, but with the treble control on the Fosi amp, I was able to dial it in to fit into a relatively well balanced low-mid-high mix.The woofer is well made, but is constrained by its size. While it performs well overall, it can struggle with the lower frequencies at medium to high volumes. Of course, a lot will depend on what you’re playing through them. In a desktop set-up, with near field listening, you may find them to be more than adequate, but at the core of a home theater set up, or with bass heavy music like Travis Scott’s, “Highest In The Room” or “Butterfly Effect,” without a subwoofer, you’re going to notice the R-41M’s limitations pretty quickly, especially at higher volumes. While they’re reasonably capable performers by themselves (with an amplifier, of course), and much better than most active speakers in the $100-$300 range, they’re not particularly neutral or consistent. The Klipsch tweeter can be a blessing or a curse, depending what you’re playing through them. The 4″ woofer can sometimes cope admirably and other times really struggle, particularly at higher volumes. This makes for a varied experience depending on what you’re playing through them and at what volume. The good thing, though, is that by simply adding a subwoofer, EVERYTHING changes. I use the excellent Sony SACS9 10″ 115W sub ($100) and it’s as though I can hear the R-41Ms saying, “Thank God you came to the party.” This is where you experience neutrality and consistency across a wide variety of music, with an open sound stage and balanced detail across the lows, mids and highs. Crossover is the frequency where speakers begin to roll off and the subwoofer picks up and runs with the bass notes and low frequencies. I’ve found that the sweet spot for the crossover for the R-41Ms, is around 80 Hz, and that’s where I’ve set my Sony sub.PRICE TO PERFORMANCEWithout a subwoofer, the R-41Ms are competent performers, as long as you use a quality interconnect, amp and speaker wire, and don’t push them too hard, or expect too much low frequency response. However, it’s when they are part of a balanced set-up to include a subwoofer, that the R-41Ms yield an impressive, immersive listening experience. They run loud and clear at a volume that apartment neighbors will not appreciate. In a studio/house, you can run them beyond being able to hold a conversation, and they easily justify their price. With my amp, speakers, sub, interconnect and good quality speaker wire, I have an audiophile system for less than $400.I hope this review helps you make an informed buying decision.

    Great sound and quality overall

The media could not be loaded.

I think the great appeal of these speakers is their design and consistent material. The sound in the mids and highs is very addictive. The bass is an interesting story: Reading and watching videos people complain that the bass is not that good and I disagree. I live in a small space and I think the bass is loud enough to fill the entire space and even bounce uncomfortably. The only problem I find with this product is that on amazon it says 7 pounds but it doesn’t say EACH so I had to deal with higher shipping costs on my freight since there was no shipping to my country so I had to use a third party.

Better than I deserve, for the price!

I ordered two sets of these speakers and one set of its big brother, the R-51M, along with the C200 center speaker.I didn’t need the bigger speakers I think now. I have hooked up a set of these 41s to my amp to hear Klipsch sound for the first time in my life. With my twin Polk 10” subwoofers for help, just two of the seven Klipsch speakers are sounding so, so good! These are the first Klipsch speakers I have ever owned or heard and it is very surprising to me how a speaker this size can sound so much larger. After buying these, I looked up videos on YouTube about them and found mostly good information and reviews.I turned off the subwoofers and the sound is still very, very good. I am very pleasantly surprised by how these sound, just the two of them. I can’t imagine how my system will sound when I hear all seven Klipsch speakers working together.I’ll finally hear the full potential of my Yamaha RX-V683 amplifier. I may even have to leave one of the subwoofers turned off now.I also plan to wall mount the four R-41Ms. I bought the Wali clamp style mount for this purpose. It was recommended by others and I can see why now. The only drawback is that it has the option of a screw in the sides of the speaker’s cabinet. The screws are not a necessity for the mount to work correctly. Just a safety feature. This is the older version of this speaker series, but that doesn’t change how new and nice they are for me.If you’re looking for something smaller than a floor standing speaker that has great sound, don’t pass these up!

Great sound in a small package

I had to downsize as we moved to a smaller house. I previously had large Pioneer HM speakers. These little bookshelf speakers sound fantastic. I was worried that the bass wouldn’t be enough, but a slight tweak of my settings on my amp and they are almost as good as my old speakers. Even at a modest 3 volume setting, they filled the room with sound. They sound equally as good on rock, jazz and classical. Well worth the $.

    Klipsch makes good stuff!

These are great speakers, I use them instead of a sound bar for the TV, along with a Klipsch center speaker. Much better sound than any soundbar I have heard. Well made speakers that should last for a long time. Klipsch is made in the USA, so that is a big bonus!

I would buy 10 of these if I had a need for it

Almost returned these speakers because was disappointed at first it didn’t have rca plug in cable capability to seamlessly connect to a DJ controller.. But ended up keeping it due to the design (ended up connecting it via an older blue-ray receiver home theater..)

    Consider buying this

Having spent some time with the Klipsch R-41M speakers, I’m excited to share my thoughts on these impressive audio companions. Whether they’re sitting on your desk or seamlessly integrated into your home entertainment setup, these speakers offer a lot of bang for your buck.Let’s dive into the details:In terms of setup, I’ve placed these speakers in my living room, which is quite a large space. Paired with a AK35 200W Dual Channel Bluetooth 5.0 Stereo Audio Amplifier, they fill the room with clear, detailed sound without overwhelming the space. I am mainly using them for my record player via cable and my computer via Bluetooth connection. When it comes to cables and connections, investing in quality components is key. I’ve opted for reliable Crutchfield speaker wire and a 3.5mm to 2RCA interconnect for seamless connectivity between my devices and the speakers. Now, onto performance. The Klipsch comes equipped with a 4″ copper-spun woofer and Klipsch’s signature horn-loaded dome tweeter. The result? Crisp highs and satisfying lows that bring your music to life. While the tweeter tends towards the brighter side, a quick adjustment of the treble control on the amplifier balances things out nicely. In terms of value for money, these speakers hold their own, especially when paired with quality components. However, where they truly shine is when you add a subwoofer into the mix. I’ve paired mine with the Sony SACS9 10″ subwoofer, and the difference is remarkable. With the crossover set at around 80 Hz, the Klipsch deliver a full-bodied sound that’s perfect for everything from casual listening to movie nights. In summary, the Klipsch R-41M speakers offer impressive sound quality in a compact package. Whether you’re a casual listener or a dedicated audiophile, these speakers won’t disappoint. Just be sure to pair them up with quality components and take the time to set them up properly, and you’ll be rewarded with an audio experience that exceeds expectations.

    Sounds awsome!

These sounds fantastic for near-field (on-desk) listening. Powering it with a small Fosi Class D amp with the signal coming from a Wiim streamer. It’s got great clarity and good power behind it. One tip, get an amp with tone controls (bass/treble). Just a little bump with the bass knob and it hits the sweet spot. Otherwise, they sound a little thin in the low notes from the 4″ driver with an un-adjusted signal.

    A taste of Klipsch

Top and mids are pretty well defined for the small size. I have had Heresy’s for years. These are great for desk or smaller room. They will surprise! Need a sub to flesh out bottom end. Nice looking, with grills off. Good value.

Worth whatever price you pay !

A couple days after i ordered these for $148, they popped up for $114…not realizing it was a different seller, i requested a refund to get them at the cheaper price, but have decided to keep them since i ordered them at this particular sellers sale price. And i am NOT upset about it one bit.I am running my Klipsch R-41M speakers through a Fosi T20 50w x2 mini tube amp with Riverstone Audio tubes, plugged into my Echo Dot using a Primedia audiophile grade 3.5mm to RCA cable, streaming Pink Floyd on Amazon Music Unlimited.Given the setup, the sound is quite amazing, the Riverstone Audio tubes are a bit warmer than the tubes the amp comes with. The mids could be a tad better, but I have absolutely zero complaints, it’s a 4 inch spun copper driver, and I like to enjoy my music so I don’t play excessively loud. I have foam speaker isolation pads coming Friday, they should be a nice improvement over my glass desktop. So far i have thoroughly enjoyed music from Pink Floyd, Stick Figure, Gary Moore, and Golden Earing. Everything sounds fantastic, nothing like my Klipsch KG 5.5 towers, but for bookshelf speakers with a 4 inch driver, i love these things. They look amazing, and sound fabulous. After listening to these i am upset one bit about having to pay the higher cost, they’re good, very good.Use high quality, heavy gauge speaker cables to get the best sound….12 or 14 awg. I am using 12 awg now, but ordered a higher quality pair with banana plugs.Quality cables will make a difference.EDIT: Since my initial review, i have over 50 hours of burn in time on my tubes, the speakers are broken in, they are on foam isolation pads with the new 12 awg speaker cables from Micca. The sound is beyond amazing for such small speakers. I have learned that they are very picky about placement, they do best with a wider sound stage, about 6 to 8 feet apart and pointed directly at your ears while sitting at least 6 feet away. The bass is nice and tight but still offers a bit of a thump, the mids have greatly opened up, and the highs are so sweet – but can be a bit much on some songs if not adjusted right. After the break in period i set my bass to the 2:00 position and treble to the 3:00 position.I also connected these to my Denon PMA 757 amplifier, still running through my Echo Dot, and holy cow they sound incredible, but i switched back to my Fosi T20 tube amplifier because i enjoy the warmth of the tubes.Once you get these broken in, there are a couple of songs i recommend listening to that will show you just how good these are, even if it’s not your cup of tea. Electrified II, Cold Flame, and Domingo, by Yello. …the horns in Waba Duba, also by Yello, are just wild and really shines on these speakers, the song in a bit weird though, lol. If you only choose one, i suggest Cold Flame.

Small, great sounding passive speakers that won’t break the bank

Purchased these speakers on a Sunday, and they arrived at my door on Monday. They were replacing an older pair of Klipsch bookshelf speakers that I inherited. The old speakers sounded muddy, and lacked mids and highs. The new speakers are sparklingly clear at all registers, and provide exceptional sound, especially in light of their relatively small size. I listened to Pearl Jam’s newest album (Dark Matter – vinyl), a Chris Stapleton album (Traveller – vinyl), an old mix tape from the ’90’s, and Sleep Token (Take Me back to Eden – CD). All sounded fantastic, no matter the media, nor the component upon which I played them. For the record, the components were a JVC, L-L1 direct drive turntable, a Sony single cassette deck, and new Onkyo stereo receiver (TX-8220) and 6 disc changer (DX-C340).I was hesitant to purchase these because of my experience with my old Klipsch speakers, but there was a night and day difference when I hooked up the new ones. If you need new speakers, make the purchase. You’ll be glad you did.

    Great bass

Bought these to connect to an amp that is hooked up to a record player and iPad via Bluetooth. Improvement over the last speakers I have but I do understand the comments about poor mid sound. I had turn down the bass on my amp because it was drowning out the other sound. But the positive definitely outweighs the negative on these speakers. Great size and sound overall.

The living was consumed with bright highs, midrange and surprising bass responds for a bookshelf speaker. To truly test the overall sound quality – I jumped from Classic, Smooth Jazz, 70s FUNK, 80s HipHop and the icing on the cake was a shocking moment when I played –> Enigma Sadeness. These are truly awesome speakers – Can’t believe – I lucked out with the $99 special – !!!!

Initially, when I took them out of the box, I was somewhat disappointed by their size. But don’t be fooled by that, because these bad boys generate a lot of audio for my 1 bedroom apartment. Wonderful sound and well built

These speakers are replacing a pair of Polk Audio small surround sound speakers. I use them in our bedroom. We like to go to sleep listening to music. What I notice most about these speakers is the big sound difference. You hear the full instrumentation and the voices are crystal clear. They have a big speaker sound in a beautiful small cabinet. I highly recommend these for any room in the house.

Such awesome audio in medium-small speakers. Super great price!

Such a great deal for amazing quality speakers. In trying to keep it to a budget and having seen so many high-rated reviews of Klipsch speakers all around, I jumped on the deal these were on sale for. They are what I personally feel are perfectly suited for my medium sized TV/movie room. My media room is about 12′ x 18′ and 8′ ceiling. In fact, they offer more output than I can generally get away with anyway, for the volume they can reach. They have a decent bass, and nice crisp highs…and I have no issues noticing any lack of mid-range, even though I’m no audiophile….I just love them. Got 2 pairs. One pair for my fronts and one pair for my rear surround. Together with an R52C center channel, I am in movie and music heaven pretty much daily and often nightly, especially since I’m still working from home.My family loves the experience as well, even if they don’t quite get into the excitement about them as I do. They are loving having a bunch more movie nights lately.I plan to be using these ear-delighting (or insert your own adjective 😉 beauties for years to come. And they are so slick looking, with or without the cover/grill on. That Klipsch copper color and rest of the design with the horn style tweeter is really an eye-catcher too.Grab them on sale, or even at their somewhat more regular low price that I have seen them hovering at, and I can’t imagine anything other than joy from these. They are worth the price (not so sure at full retail price though from some of those big name brick and mortar stores though)…at least there should be no realistic sense of disappointment for anyone, for a smaller-medium, yet still good-sized bookshelf speakers that will output fantastically in a medium-sized room.

    Modest Speakers

Reference speakers, so you’ll need to power them through a receiver or amplifier. Modest speakers. Perfect for a standard 10’x12’ room. Had to adjust settings on receiver. Strongly recommend getting a sub. The lows are pronounced; but don’t want to blow out the speakers. The mids and highs are great though.

    Yep

Some reviews mention a lack of bass. To that end, these are left and right front, or rear. these contain mids and tweeters. They function quite well within their frequency ranges. Definitely upper tier. – If you notice in the photo, these are being utilized as left and right front speakers. They are resting on Hoobro End Tables, which come in a set of 2 at $28.49. – These speakers are complimented with the Klipsch Synergy Black Label Sub-100 10” at $28.49. The sub crosses over about 20 hz above where these cut out. It makes for nice transitions. The sub sits inside the Asmosic TV Entertainment Stand at $89.99. The TV Stand is rock solid, minimalistic, light weight, and has a nice teak laminate surface wood top.For the “receiver”, I am using the XRONG Bluetooth 5.1 Power Amplifier 100Wx2 for left and right, plus 100W for Sub out. This little champ really brings out the range and clarity of these speakers.

Wow! That’s the most important thing you should know.

I’m not a hardcore audiophile but I do appreciate great sounding speakers and these sound great. I have some low end Klipsch towers that are really great for voicing but lack musically. I put them in the back of the room and put these little Klipsch’s up front and I’m not disappointed. The sensitivity and frequency response is amazing. I’m going to sell the towers and replace them with another set of R-41M’s. My audio sources isn’t the best. I’m only playing CD’s through a Samsung Blueray connected to an Integra DTR 30.3. Bad recordings still sound bad but really good recordings are such a pleasure now. I haven’t used these for movies yet but I image they’ll be fine. Funny, I was actually looking for something smaller, for a “bookshelf” speaker these are a decent size, but hell with that. Great buy.

Dynamic, exciting and fun, great value.

This speaker rocks! Great for EDM and Rock, holds up well to abuse/high volumes. These speakers are wayyy better built than many other speakers in the $100 ish range. Very solid feeling, durable coating, strong magnets and great build quality all around. They have a v curve response with tilted up treble and bass and more narrow, focused imaging and sound stage. These speakers don’t have the holographic surround sound effect of a wider dispersal tweeter, so look else ware if that is what you are after. Bass gradually rolls off below 100hz and the port is tuned around 60hz, so drops off completely below that. This makes for decent bass without a sub and easy blending with one. The 2 way horn design closely matches the sound signature of typical PA loudspeakers and this results in a very “live” front row feeling to music that begs you crank the volume. Super engaging and thrilling to listen too. These little speakers can get very loud. Combined with an amp, these make a great alternative to party/bluetooth speakers. If you are looking for max volume on a budget, these are it! They do start to suffer from crunchy/peaky sounding treble at high volumes. However this is exactly the same sounding treble distortion you will hear at any live rock/metal performance, so makes for an authentic experience lol. These really are like mini PA loudspeakers, love it!. If you are more snobbish about getting neutral, uncolored sound than klipsch is not for you. They impart a distinct coloration to the sound that some will not care for. For those who like to rock out and listen loud or looking for good multimedia dynamics, these are a fantastic option.EDIT: Changing this to a 4 star as after living with them for awhile some glaring shortcomings are all I hear now. Look great and good enough for most, but once you hear the blaring trebble brightness and poor imaging and resonate boomy mid bass long enough it becomes hard to enjoy.

WOW, Honestly it’s way more than what I expected!!!

I had a Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 THX before for my computer that works and sounds great (for 6 years) and I was thinking to add another amplifier and speakers to my sound output, I though okay before buying an amplifier let’s try these speakers first and I tried them to mix them with my current speaker in parallel and serial, both worked, in high volume parallel is kinda harsh but it’s awesome in serial mix!** I mixed them in serial with satellite speakers, there’s nothing to do with woofer!I’m really into bright clear and crispy treble sound quality and I can’t be more satisfied of sound quality with this price! (*I was surprised to see how the Amp or PreAmp in Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 THX can handle this mix in serial and I hear it mostly in 9-10 o’clock with windows volume on %35![speaker volume turn starts at 7 o’clock up to 5])* While listening music with this mix -even from youtube in other tabs- sometimes I’m wondering what happened around me, on my side or may back when it clearly sounds some details of music like clicks, dings, crisps or… any!Thank you very much Klipsch, you are the one and only. *From now on, a pair of Klipsch RP-6000F Floorstanding Speaker is in my “Buy It Later” list! I’ll think and decide about the new amplifier later! ;D

    Great sound, great look

I have had these speakers for a few years and I really like the sound put out by these speakers. I have them connected to a modern Sony record player and a 35 year old Kenwood tuner and Kenwood 5 disc CD player. I am not a speaker connoisseur but the speakers have a very good range and sound output from bass, mid-range to treble. There is little to no distortion at higher volumes. The magnetic dust covers are easy on/off and the speakers look great with them off. The connection to my tuner is made via raw wires pushed into connection clips. The speakers themselves are well-built and solid. Klipsch is a brand recognized for its high end, high quality products. I highly recommend these or any electronics made by Klipsch.

Great bookshelf speakers for surround sound

Recently I redid my home theater set up. I replaced my 5.1 400 Watt system with a 7.1 700 Watt system. I moved the 5.1 system to my living room and installed the 7.1 in my home theater room. I had one pair of these Klipsch bookshelf speakers that I was using as the rears in the 5.1 system. I was so impressed with them that I purchased two more pair as the rear and mids for the 7.1 system.Because they are not being used as the main speakers in either system, the 50 Watt peak of these speakers is a non factor. They have crisp highs, tight mids, and just enough bass that sounds coming from them are clear and non distorted. These speakers would also work well as main speakers in a small 2.0 or 2.1 system used for music. They would fill a small to medium space with clear and precise sound without distortion.I did learn that in my 7.1 system as mids they come across as an after thought in the sound reproduction of movies, but that is mainly because of positioning due to the shape of the room. Moving the speakers more towards the center of the room fixed that but then it changed the profile of the sound during certain movies. My plan was to wall mount the speakers closer to their original positioning using the keyhole mount on the back. This is where I found possibly the one flaw with the design of these speakers. They are rear ported, so they needed additional spacing between the speaker and the wall to allow for the rear port to have sufficient space. I placed a set of rubber feet attached by adhesive to the back of the speakers at the bottom of the back panel to get the needed clearance.Based on finding this flaw, if these are to be wall mounted I would suggest attaching them to wall mounting brackets that provide ample clearance for the rear port.If you’re looking for big sound from small speakers for your small to mid sized room, these will get the job done.If you’re looking for clear sound for surround speakers in a home theater, these are great fits as long as you know the limitations with wall mounting.

    Very nice sounding!

Replaced my Polk tsi 100’s good speakers, but didn’t match well with JBL es 80’s. Purchased the 41’s watched Dune II again as a reference, the room lit up, the speakers paired well with the 80’s even though they are much olders speakers the 41’s played along very well.

    Satisfaction

Not a Theatre Speaker, but they fit on a bookshelf and sound larger than the space taken up. Extremely Satisfied.Second suggestion: These speakers are rated to perform with 80 Watt Amps. That may be ok but I connect to 250 Watt per channel Crown amp. No distortion at any level. Probably not suitable to use with a computer without external power. Still really satisfied with the performance.

Can get better with less money!

You can get more full Sound in less expensive speakers.Let me try to explain a little bit.If you need a decent pair of speakers powered with a cheap amp like fosi BT20A or AIYIMA D07 for desktop, to hear music with good clarity but not too loud, maybe this can work for you, and looks very nice on your desktop, very well build. All this just in sale , for more than 200 US dollars, never!. The bass depends of the placement of the speakers (my best results. Something about 12 inches from the wall to get the best possible base response). I think that anything below 60-70 hertz would be present here. Doesn’t fill the room with base. The mids are clear, present and are very good but depends of the direction of the speakers can be a little high. The highs are also too clear, but too much for my taste. Can be exagerated but if the amp have tone controls, you can turn down a little to balance the sound. This speakers can be much much better with a subwoofer added to the system. Could be a cheap one like elac 1010 or even the cheap monoprice 60W, really improves the soundstage of this speakers. But in the end if the look doesn’t matter to you, you can get the sony cs5 (much much better option in sound quality, and with subwoofer, amazing. Sounds better than a lot of 300 dollars speakers). Or you can get the cheap moukey speakers (2 way sounds better than the 3 ways speakers version). The moukeys for me sounds more balanced, more full sound , more loud even, base are more present, and are front ported and that means that you can set them up direct to the wall without affecting the sound quality, and I think Moukey can go down up to 45 -55 hertz. Are not clear as the klipsch, but overall sounds more refined and fun for me. The soundstage of the moukeys are a way way better. But again, the klipsch are not a bad speakers. I think can be great as a part of a system with subwoofer, as rears of a 5.1 system for example. And for me looks very good.

Great speakerrs from a legendary manufacturer

These great speakers maximized the realism of my stereo. They replaced the single-cone speakers that came with my systen and I could immediately tell the increased realism and identifiability of instruments in the orchestra. And if you rock, they can be LOUD.

    Was NOT expecting….

I have Klipsch 5.25 bookshelfs and a pair of towers already (from before they went in to Best Buy, if you catch my drift), and I wasn’t expecting “new” Klipsch 4″ bookshelfs to be anything to write home about, but dang, they DO perform! They’re my office speakers, which does occasionally mean some loud tunes as well as listening to seminars, and they sound great!

    Excellent speakers for the price!

Klipsch reference line is a love it or hate it kind of speaker. Some find the highs to be a bit harsh and that can cause listener fatigue for some. Personally I am not affected by this so I find the speakers to be excellent. Find a local place to listen before buying if you can (my local Bestbuy has them on demo). This review is for the r-41m bookshelf speaker. I have two pairs as front and rear height channels in a 5.2.4 setup with 2 r620f towers, an r52c center, 2 r51m side surrounds and 2 r100sw subwoofers powered by a Denon avr-x4400h. I am not an expert by any means on speakers, so I cant give technical details about them, but from a casual end user I can say that I have been very pleased with the quality. Build quality is excellent, enclosures are well made and heavy, finish looks great and the copper tone woofer looks great in my house. Sound is great. I listen to just about every genre of music from classical to classic hip hop and everything in between. The speakers are able to accurately reproduce the music up to incredibly high levels with little to no distortion. Same goes for movies. Dialogue comes through crystal clear at all levels and the rest of the movies audio is reproduced excellently. I have the r41m speakers positioned high on the ceiling in front and rear of my main listening position (angled towards seating area) and right now have them crossed over at 200hz as that is typical Atmos spec since height/atmos channels do not need to reproduce much bass. Because of that I can’t comment on bass reproduction from the r41m, but they do an excellent job producing the desired height effects for my setup. Ideally I would have used wide dispersion in ceiling speakers aimed down but I have a very high angled ceiling with an odd shape which ruled out both in ceiling and atmos upfiring speakers in my room. All in all I have been very happy with these speakers (and the other reference line speakers in my setup). I’d love to have some RP series speakers but I’m ballin on a budget. Look for 40 to 50% off sales occasionally and you can get some great deals on a great setup. I’ll be buying another set of either these or the r51m when I’m ready to move to a 7.2.4 setup.

Sorry, but I just don’t hear it

I’ve had these speakers for about a month and after trying them out with three different receivers, and playing movies, music (Spotify), and vinyl, I just don’t see (or hear) what everyone is talking about. They just don’t sound good. They’re flat and not very clear. I keep thinking I’m using them wrong or have them set up wrong or something. I’ve even tried different gauge speaker wire with the same results.I keep going back to the reviews wondering if I’m the only one who is getting subpar sound from these speakers. I just don’t get it. It’s past the return window now so I’m stuck with them, and I guess I could use them for computer speakers or something. I just don’t get it.I’m trying to build a surround sound system for my living room, but if this is what Klipsch speakers are like then I’m very hesitant to try out other models. I may have to do more research and try a different brand. Anybody else thinks these speakers sound murky and weak?
